FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Question:  What is the requirements to obtain a dangerous goods certificate?
Answer:     You have to have a Code EC licence and be 25 years of age.

Question:  Why do I need to comply?
Answer:     The law states that all  lifting machinery operators should comply with the Occupational Health and Safety Act 1993.

Question:  Is it necessary to go for a health and safety test before acquiring a forklift licence?
Answer:    Some courses require learners to complete a separate health and safety test prior to your forklift training test.

Question:  What is the purpose of  Dangerous Goods?
Answer:     To transport Dangerous Goods for an income you must have a professional driving permit (PrDP).
                  In order to obtain that you need to have dangerous goods certification.

Question:  Why do we need different certification to operate different machines?  
Answer:    Different certification is necessary because each machine has a different unit standard, and all the machines are used in                  different job environments.

Question:  Why would I require a construction machinery certificate?
Answer:    So that in the event of the learner having an accident or incident , the safety officer would be able to check if he                   was properly trained and competent before being certified.
